How To Underline Text In Photoshop
Underlining text in Adobe Photoshop may seem like a simple task, but it’s not as straightforward as you might think if you haven’t tried it earlier.
However, there’s no need to worry! In this article, we’ll guide you through the process of underlining any text in Photoshop without any issues.
How To Underline Text In Photoshop
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to underline text in Photoshop:
Step 1: Create a text box and type your text.
To do this, select the “Horizontal Type Tool” from the Tools menu, click anywhere on the canvas, and start typing. You can also use the shortcut “T” on your keyboard to select the “Horizontal Type Tool.”
Step 2: Open the Character Panel.
Open the “Character Panel“. If you can’t find the “Character Panel” in your workspace, you can open it by going to the main menu at the top, clicking on “Window,” and selecting “Character.” This will open up the Characters window.

Step 3: Adjust the Text.
Select the text layer from the “Layers Panel” or double-click on your text to select and highlight it. In the “Character Panel,” you’ll find options for changing the text appearance, represented by different types of the letter “T.” To underline your text, select the underlined letter “T.” Your text will be underlined immediately.
If you only want to underline a specific part of the text, you can do that too. Simply select (highlight) the portion you want to underline and click on the underlined “T” symbol in the “Character Panel.”
